Record Shopping: Lissie, The Civil Wars, The National, Norah Jones, The Damnwells

2011 March 21

Went on an iTunes-binge this morning, at 2am. Here’s what I got:

  • Dixie Chicken – Little Feat – after listening to Pete Francis’ ‘Wake the Mountain’ record for the past two years and being absolutely in love with the bluegrass/folky stuff that Barefoot Truth did with him, a friend told me the record sounded a lot like Little Feat. So I bought two of their albums. I hope I like them!
  • Feats Don’t Fail Me Now – Little Feat
  • No One Listens to the Band Anymore – The Damnwells – their new album, released on March 15th.
  • High Violet – The National
  • Barton Hollow – The Civil Wars
  • Catching a Tiger – Lissie
  • Sad Sappy Sucker – Modest Mouse – completing my MM collection.
  • The Best of the Moody Blues – The Moody Blues
  • Come Away With Me – Norah Jones – I’ve heard so many amazing songs of hers on the coffeehouse channel on XM that I finally had to start listening to her on a consistent basis. ‘The Queen of Chill’.

‘Twas a good morning.
