Lessons of the Fall

The past two weeks have been an incredible whirlwind for me and some incredible re-teachings came into my life. I let go of a lot of preconceived notions about how to live life and be happy and as a result, I elevated my living and happiness to new heights. This included the realization that all women have shampoo and forgetting to bring yours is really not that big of a deal. In addition, I discovered that using six different people’s shampoos over the span of two weeks alters my DNA – I am now experimenting with newfound talents involving shooting spider webs out of my wrists. Below are a few of the lessons that I was reminded of over the past two weeks.

  • In love, there is only room for two people’s opinions – the rest don’t matter.
  • Being open to meeting people on airplanes means I meet some really cool people on airplanes.
  • Living life without your normal routine forces you to grow in a beautiful way.
  • I have a nerdy bathing suit.
  • Nothing has to be perfect. The more I accept this, the easier it is to live life on my own terms.
  • Greek yogurt is amazing.
  • Cracker Barrel’s meatloaf dinner is very similar to listening to Norah Jones: delicious and erotic.
  • Romance is found in all-nighters.
  • What we perceive as challenges are forgotten in six days.
  • I really need to learn how to tan properly.
  • When the chips are down, it gives the people in your life a great chance to step up and show you how much they truly care about you.
  • Lifelong friendships are formed on road trips.
  • Looking deep into their eyes and letting them know you believe in them is one of the most powerful gifts we can give to someone we love.
  • Minimalism (read: forced minimalism) definitely has its place in my life.
  • There’s nothing like a good woman’s cooking (this is not a reference to Cracker Barrel).
  • I can function on very little sleep when I enjoy the people I’m spending time with.
  • All I need are a few close friends to come home to and share my experiences with at the end of the day.
  • There’s nothing like laughing with people I love.
